The axle system of excavator vehicles adopts different structural designs due to different application conditions. Locomotives and passenger cars have axle boxes, and the bearings are connected to the bogie through the axle box. The bearings are connected to the bogie side frame through the bearing saddle. Classification and Application of Wheel Axle Bearings Vehicle wheel axle bearings are divided into the following types based on their design technology and application: cylindrical roller bearings, unit double row tapered roller bearings, unit single row tapered roller bearings, single row cylindrical roller bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, and unit cylindrical roller bearings. The unit is mainly used in the axle boxes of railway locomotives, passenger cars, and urban rail vehicles. It is generally a double row cylindrical roller bearing with sealing devices on both sides or two paired single row cylindrical roller bearings with sealing devices on one side. The bearing unit is filled with lubricating grease before supply and installation, and no lubricating grease needs to be added during installation.
Due to the integral sealing device of the bearing, it has a longer maintenance cycle. This type of bearing has a special structural design inside, and the linear contact between the rollers and the raceway is corrected to avoid edge stress, making the bearing particularly suitable for withstanding high radial loads in applications, while also being able to withstand some axial loads. Compared to tapered roller bearing units, cylindrical roller bearing units are easy to disassemble and assemble, making it convenient for bearing maintenance and repair.
Double row cylindrical roller bearings, unit paired single row cylindrical roller bearings, unit double row tapered roller bearings, unit bearing units have complete sealing, and lubricating grease is filled and clearance is adjusted before supply and installation. The overall unit design is conducive to the installation and disassembly of bearings, and the bearings are installed on the shaft neck by cold pressing installation method.
